well this is our last day. feels very weird to be leaving. i think we are all really excited to be going home to see our families and friends. getting back into a daily routine might do us some good as well. thank you to all of our new friends we have met in sydney. without the james’, tom and robs, charlotte, and nicks families we would of not had such an amazing time and places to sleep. tonight we will be having a going away drinking extravaganza and a bbq with sausages and prawns during the day. we are all packed up a whole day before our flight which i think is exceptional and really something to speak of. i dont really know how to describe our trip and this country it might take awhile for it all the sink in and put into words. all i can say it was one of the best experiences of my life and i urge everyone to do a trip at some point. i have learned a lot, been scared, shocked, excited, laughed, relaxed, and have grown up over the past two months. i haven’t travelled my distance yet though and will continue to explore many more countries in the future. i will return to australia it is without a doubt an extremely interesting country. thank you again. everyone will be dearly missed. to all my family and friends i will see you shortly. that is if the plane doesn’t crash and/or if i get the swine flu and get quarantined in a decompression chamber for many days then have to continue living life in a bubble like jake gyllenhal while slowly transforming into a pig which would lead to my exit from the human race never seeing my family again, but hey atleast ill be smarter than your average dog.
cheers,
dan

Hey everyone… its been quite sometime since i’ve gotten a chance to sit down and pound a blog out. Our trip is sadly coming to an end… but its about time to come home. We have several blogs cut that hopefully will be uploaded in a few days … again getting internet has been quite a pain. Right now im typing away at the Apple store in downtown sydney…. free internet, and Dan needs to get his laptop fixed. I received a shitty email today … stating that we got a traffic ticket in our camper van for going on the express way …. without these magical tags everyone else here seems to have. Nothing like $50 fine when you have no money 4 days before you leave….. especially when they bill your credit card automatically. We all miss you guys back home… hope everyone is dodging the swine flu epidemic… sounds like customs is going to be a royal bitch.
In other news we have been homeless for quite sometime now…. couch and floor surfing at some amazing friends houses. Ever slept on a heated floor at a women’s college? Cya guys in a few days …. im going to go cram one of the last meat pies into my mouth.

So we just flew into Sydney last night… we had an epic time diving the reef. It would have been stupid expensive to have taken photos underwater … but we do have some video of the ship and what not that will be coming soon, if you watch finding Nemo, its pretty much the same thing. Since we are back in Sydney, we have the ability to upload some footage! New blog below … another one in the works.
Today it looks like we are going to head off to the Blue Mountains to explore and camp for the next few days. Hope everyone is doing great back home…. cya in 2 weeks.

Craziness

So as some of you may or may not know, Brooks Dan and I traveled in a 2 person Mitsubishi Campervan from around 1985 up the majority of Australia’s east coast, from Sydney to Hervey Bay from last Tuesday until now. For the record, it has rained heavily absolutely everyday since we started the trip, its been very interesting cramming 3 grown men with all of our clothes + camera gear into a full sized mattress padded van with it raining the absolute hardest I’ve ever seen in my life outside; therefore disallowing us to open the windows, evacuate the van for longer than 30 seconds, and allowing for the tracking of mud, sand, water and other unknown substances onto the thin pad where we all must sleep. But I digress, it’s been an amazing time, seen a lot of great places, many of them in the pouring rain, some… well 3 places in brilliant sunshine that was much too shortlived. We’re crossing our fingers for the rain the stop since we’re are returning the van, Sally, tomorrow. It will be hard to see her go but if we breach contract we don’t get any deposit back, so that’s reason enough to let go.
Sorry about the lack of updates, internet has been few and far apart, not to mention that we cannot find any public internet that allows us to upload video, can most likely get some pictures up soon after we find some power for the laptops and camera batteries :-). Posting this from a very American place in Brisbane, McDonalds! They have free wifi, its amazing, cheap, terrible food, and free slow internet! But there’s no complaining, it keeps us connected for the right price.
The plans for post Sally adventures are in the works and will be up on the site soon. We’re working on the video blogs, have another one to post, just no way to post it. Hope everyone in the states is dryer than us, thanks for checking in.
Cheers
Seth
Video Viewing
by s.naugle on Mar.30, 2009, under Uncategorized
Hey everyone,
If you are experiencing slow download speeds when trying to watch the videos, you can turn off HD in the Center right side of the screen to have a faster download, or if you don’t mind the wait, you can simply press play, wait for the video to start, then pause it and leave it to load, then you can watch them with no skipping or stopping.
Hope you like the new blogs, we will be continuing to update, sorry we’re albeit backed up on our blog footage, its quite the amount to sort through, not to mention edit while we’re on the road / switching hostels / switching cities / switching houses. But anyway, enjoy and hope all is well.
